Tips to wearing your jeans

1. STRIPES, DENIM JACKET & A POP OF MUSTARD YELLOW

I believe this is the easiest way to wear white jeans. Stripes, some light wash denim and a pop of color! This is an outfit you can wear in the springtime or summer. The bright pop of color brings some fun to the outfit and keeps the outfit from looking a little too plain.

Outfit Formula: Striped tee + Light Wash Denim Jacket + Bright Clutch or Handbag + Flats = Easy Breezy White Jeans Outfit

2. WHITE ON WHITE ON WHITE

If you’re ready to be a little bit daring, how about going all white! It doesn’t matter if it’s before or after Labor Day wearing an all white outfit is a stylish way to sport your favorite white jeans.
Wear a white tank top with a white blazer and if you have them white shoes. I don’t own any white shoes so I wore a pair of silver sandals with matching silver jewelry.

Outfit Formula: White Tank + White Blazer + Silver or White Sandals = No Fuss All White Outfit

3. POLKA DOTS & POP OF RED

Nothing like getting a little patriotic and going red, white and blue. The funny thing is that I’m wasn’t going for a patriotic outfit it just ended up that way.

Pairing your white jeans with a chiffon blue polka dot shirt with matching polka dot flats will create a fun outfit that can be worn throughout summer. For an added bit of color and texture I added a bright red leather handbag.

Outfit Formula: Blue Polka Dot Blouse + Blue Polka Dot Flats + Red Handbag = Stylish 4th of July Outfit (that can also be worn any other day)

4. TIE-DYE, HEELED SANDALS AND MATCHING PATENT HANDBAG

Pairing white jeans with a light blue tie-dye tank top will immediately make you stand out, if that’s what you’re looking for! In this white jeans outfit I wore a bright tie-dye tank top in many shades of blue with coordinating sandals and patent handbag.

This outfit is perfect for late night drinks with the girls or date night with the boyfriend. White and blue is a perfect duo as you’re starting to see.

Outfit Formula: Tie-dye tank top + Matching Heeled Sandals + Matching Patent Handbag = A Standout Outfit!

5. STRIPED BUTTON DOWN, SEXY HEELS & CUTE SATCHEL

Dressing your white jeans up and making them look more sophisticated is easily achieved with a button down. Pairing your white jeans with a striped button down and gray heels can make your white jeans office appropriate (depending on where you work of course.)

I wore a bold striped shirt with contrasting cuffs so the outfit had a little more attitude. I finished off the outfit with a cute salmon colored satchel. A pop of color can make all the difference!

Outfit Formula: Striped Button Down Shirt + Textured Heels + Bright Satchel = Office Appropriate White Jeans Outfit

6. NUDE HEELS & CROCHET SWEATER

If you don’t want to go all the way and wear all white then you can try an outfit like this. White jeans paired with neutrals.

I this white jeans outfit I paired nude pumps with a light cream crochet sweater. This sweater has a lot of texture and it can look perfect worn on it’s own but you need to layer I would suggest a denim jacket or white blazer.

Outfit Formula: Nude Heels + Cream Crochet Sweater = Stylish Neutral Summer Outfit

7. LONG COAT, BRIGHT HEELS & GOLD ACCESSORIES

Do you want to wear your white jeans during winter? I did! So this is the outfit I put together. I must mention that I live in California so the winter’s are not that bad here. Hence the open toed shoes.

Pair your white jeans with a contrasting long black coat and scuba shirt for a dramatic effect. The pop of color in the outfit are the heels. A little leopard print and fuchsia can go a long way in a winter look. I finished off the look with gold accessories and my favorite sunglasses.

Outfit Formula: Long Contrasting Coat + Black Scuba Shirt + Gold Accessories + Bright Heels = Stylish White Jeans Winter Outfit

8. FLOWY TOP & STYLISH SUMMER SANDALS

Yes, these pants have a pattern but I’m going to say that they are white too because patterned jeans are just as or if not more difficult to wear white jeans.

This is an outfit I wore wine tasting in Napa, Ca. I wanted the outfit to look casual yet dressy and stylish. I wore a blouse that matched a color from the jeans and stylish pair of summer sandals. In this outfit I coordinated the color of the handbag and the sandals.

Outfit Formula: Summer Sandals + Neutral Top + Matching Handbag = Stylish Wine Tasting Outfit

9. FLORAL BOLERO & COORDINATING ACCESSORIES

If you’re looking for an easy breezy outfit for a spring or summer day pair your favorite pair of white jeans with a bolero and white tank top.

I coordinated the handbag with the blue of the bolero and the orange in the sandals match the pop of color in the floral pattern. Always make sure your items coordinate and you’ll have an outfit that looks put together.

Outfit Formula: Floral Bolero + White Tank Top + Matching Handbag + Summer Sandals = Easy Breezy Summer or Spring Outfit

10. BLACK LACE & STRIPED HEELS

Dress up your white jeans for a romantic date night with a black lace blouse. Create a stylish black and white outfit by wearing a black blouse with lace detailing and striped black and white heels. Finish off the look with gorgeous gold details.

Outfit Formula: Black Lace Blouse + Striped Black & White Heels + Gold Details = Romantic Date Night Outfit

11. SHADES OF BROWN & GOLD SANDALS

12.BLACK FLATS & CROPPED DENIM JACKET

If you want to go for a nautical vibe when you’re at the lake or the beach pair your white jeans with stripes. This no fail combination makes for a casual and stylish look.

Again I reach for my cropped denim jacket because it just goes perfectly with white denim. This is also the easiest way to wear denim on denim.

Contacts Lenses Tips For Your Health

1. Is the contact lens inside out ?

A question many newbie wearers have is: “How can I tell if my contact lens is inside-out?”

The difference can be subtle, but before placing a contact lens on your eye, make sure it looks like half a ball, not a soup bowl with a rim.

The trick is to place the lens on your finger so that a cup is formed. Then hold the lens up directly in front of your eyes so you’re looking at the side of the cup.

If the lens forms a “U” with the top edges flared out, it’s inside out. If it forms just a “U,” it’s in the correct position.

If you’re wearing lenses with a handling tint, another way is to place the lens on your fingertip and then look down at it. The edge of a tinted lens should look very blue (or green, depending on the tint); that won’t be the case if the lens is inverted.

Some contact lenses also have a laser marking, such as the brand name, on the edge to help you. If you can read it properly, the lens is not inside out.

Don’t worry if you place a contact lens in your eye inside out. The lens will feel uncomfortable, but it can’t do any damage.

2.Apply your contact lense

Make sure you wash your hands thoroughly before applying your contact lenses, but avoid scented or oily soaps that might adhere to the lens surface. Especially avoid using products containing lanolin and moisturizing lotions.

Some eye doctors say to always apply the first contact lens in the same eye, so you’ll avoid the possibility of mixing up lenses for the right eye and left eye.

Other basic guidelines for contact lens application include:

  • Gently shake your lens case containing the storage solution, to loosen the contact lens should it be stuck. (Don’t try pulling at the lens with your finger, or you might damage it.)
  • Slide the lens out of its case and into the palm of your hand. Rinse thoroughly with the appropriate contact lens solution.
  • Place the contact lens on the tip of your index or middle finger, which should be dry or mostly dry.
  • With the fingers and thumb of your other hand, simultaneously pull up on your upper eyelid and down on your lower eyelid.
  • Position the lens on your eye while looking upward or forward, whichever you find to be easier. You also can apply the contact lens by placing it on the white of the eye closest to your ear.
  • Gently close your eye, roll your eyes in a complete circle to help the lens settle, and then blink.
  • Look closely in the mirror to make sure the lens is centered on your eye. If it is, the lens should be comfortable and your vision should be clear.

3. Removing your contact lenses

Always wash your hands before removing contact lenses. If you are standing in front of a sink, use a clean paper towel to cover the drain where the contact lens might accidentally fall.

CONTACT LENS SAFETY TIPS

  • DO make sure contact lenses and lens storage cases are cleaned and disinfected regularly, according to your eye doctor’s instructions.
  • DON’T place contact lenses in your mouth or use your saliva to wet them.
  • DO replace contact lenses regularly, according to your eye doctor’s directions.
  • DON’T “top off” old solution in your contact lens case. Instead, discard old solution and replace it with fresh solution.
  • DO always rub contact lenses when you clean them, even if using a “no-rub” solution.

Read “Caring For Soft Contact Lenses” for more advice on keeping your lenses safe and hygienic.

To remove soft contact lenses, look upward or sideways while you pull down on your lower eyelid. With a finger, gently maneuver the lens onto the white of your eye. There, you can very gently pinch the lens together with your index finger and thumb and lift it off the eye.

Until you master contact lens removal, you might want to keep your fingernails short to avoid accidentally scratching and damaging your eye.

Gas permeable contact lenses can be removed by holding out the palm of your hand, bending over, and then opening your eye wide. With one finger of your other hand, pull the skin between your upper and lower eyelid (just outside the lateral aspect of your eye) outward toward your ear with your eye wide open. Then blink. The contact lens should pop right out and into your open palm.

Devices for removing contact lenses, called “plungers,” also are available from your eye doctor, and can be used to touch and directly remove a lens from your eye. Just make sure you touch only the lens and not your eye’s surface with these devices.

While you might hear a myth or two about someone “losing” a contact lens in the back of the eye, this is actually impossible because of a membrane that connects your eye to the back of your eyelid.

4. Contact lense and uv light

Researchers have linked ultraviolet (UV) light to the formation of cataracts. Exposure to excessive UV light also may result in a condition called photokeratitis.

Always put your contact lenses on beforeapplying eye shadow, mascara and eyeliner.

That’s why some contact lenses now contain a UV-blocking agent. You can’t tell if a contact lens has a UV blocker just by looking at it — the blocking agent is clear, so as not to disturb vision. The contact lens packaging will specify if the product has a UV blocker, or you can ask your eye doctor.

Very important: UV-blocking contacts are not meant to replace sunglasses. A contact lens covers only your cornea, not your entire eye.

However, UV-blocking contact lenses do help protect the portion of the white of your eye that is covered from formation of growths such as pingueculae and pterygia.

Sunglasses with UV protection can cover more of your eye and the parts of your face that surround the eye, depending on the size of the sunglass lens. That’s why contacts with UV blockers are designed to complement sunglass use as an added protection.

5. Eye make up and contact lenses

Getting makeup in your eye is annoying. But it’s even worse with contacts, because it can stick to the lenses instead of flushing right out. Follow these tips to keep your eyes looking and feeling good:

  1. Put your contact lenses on before applying makeup. And always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your contacts, so you won’t transfer any oils, creams or lotions to the lenses.
  2. Use only non-allergenic makeup. Almay and Clinique have eye-friendly products, but there are other good brands as well.
  3. Cream eye shadow is less likely to get in your eye than powder. But creams can irritate your eyes more if they do make it into your eyes. Choose water-based rather than oil-based creams.
  4. If you prefer powder, keep your eyes closed during application. Then, brush off any excess powder before opening your eyes.
  5. Never apply eyeliner between your lashes and your eye. Apply eyeliner only on the portion of your lashes that is well away from your eye.
  6. To remove eye makeup, wash and dry your hands. Then remove your contacts, being careful not to bump them into any makeup. Finally, use your eye makeup remover.
  7. Replace your eye makeup frequently — at least every three months. Don’t use old eye makeup, because over time bacteria will get into the product and then into your eyes, where it can cause an infection. One way to tell if your makeup is too old is if it smells funny. Also, don’t share your eye makeup with others.

Are you changing your contact lens case often? A dirty case can lead to fungal eye infections, even if you’re diligent about cleaning your contacts.

In order to help maximum lens wearing comfort, consider these important tips for successful lens wear and care.

These tips will help guide you, but always follow the advice of your eye care professional.

Always attention :

  1. Always wash your hands with a mild soap and dry them with a lint-free towel before touching your lenses.
  2. Always clean, rinse, and disinfect your lenses each time you remove them. Follow your eye care professional’s instructions.
  3. Always handle the same lens first to avoid confusing the right and left lenses
  4. Always keep all solution bottles closed when not in use.
  5. Always clean your lens case daily and let air dry. Replace your lens case every three months.
  6. Always use solution before expiration date marked on bottle, or discard.
  7. Always remove contacts before you go swimming.
  8. Always keep ReNu MultiPlus Lubricating and Rewetting Drops with you at all times.
  9. Always carry your contact lens case along with a bottle of multi-purpose solution to have a safe place to store your lenses.
  10. Always schedule regular appointments with your eye care professional as he/she recommends.

  • Never wear your contact lenses in the presence of harmful or irritating vapors or fumes.
  • Never wear lenses for more than the prescribed time.
  • Never swap contact lenses with anyone.
  • Never apply hairspray after putting your contact lenses on.

High Heels Shoes Tips For Comfortable and Great

1. Shave down your heel

If you’re willing to sacrifice a little height for the ability to walk through a room with ease, consider shaving down the heel. For around $15, a shoe repair shop like Steve Express Shoe Repair in New York City can simply cut off a portion of the spike. According to Steve, the owner, the maximum that’s usually removed is “around an inch.” Any more and you would feel the difference in the shoe’s arched construction.

2. Use gel insoles

Gel insoles solve a lot of heel-wearing problems. For one thing, they can prevent toes from scrunching and thereby prevent blisters. Dr. Scholl’s sellshigh heel insoles with arch shaping to keep pressure off your foot. If your toes are constantly sliding forward in your shoes, there’s even a cushion designed to hold the ball of your foot in place. The gel inserts stick to your shoe insoles well but are also easy to swap among your shoes. The product’s website advises to replace them every six months, or when they start to tear.

3. Change the way that you walk

You don’t have to be a Next Top Model fan to know that when it comes to walking in heels, Tyra actually does know what she’s talking about. Perhaps that’s why she created this video. A few rules from Tyra: Realize you’re not on a casual stroll in sneakers and that posture is essential to adding flow to your stride. The correct way to walk in heels involves keeping your head and spine straight, as if you’re being pulled up by a string. As you walk, use your hips to shift and lift your legs to the center with each step you take. Your paces should look more like a light bounce than like you’re saving yourself from a fall. Since wearing your heels means your feet no longer form a 90 degree angle with your ankles, changing your gait will help you readjust your body’s center of gravity and find balance. You still won’t feel like you’re walking on clouds, but this method will at least make heels feel more bearable.

4.Take regular breaks

On its website, Leather Spa, a popular shoe repair shop in the heart of Manhattan, recommends not wearing heels more than two days in a row, with at least a day’s break in between. If you want to keep walking four inches off the ground, you’ve got to give your feet time to recover in between.

5. Get heels with ties

Have you ever noticed how frustrating it is to deal with your feet slipping out of your heels the minute they leave the ground? Even worse, loose shoes often make you drag your feet in an attempt to prevent them from falling out. Heels with straps, ties, or buckles over the ankle or feet offer a solution. Go for adjustable straps to accommodate swelling.

6. Use Moleskin

Also known as “second skin,” moleskin is not actually animal hide (fortunately) but soft cotton flannel with adhesive backing. Sold in sheets and available in most drug stores and online, you can cut and customize the shape of moleskin to cover any trouble spots you have on your feet. It molds to the shape of your feet better than a bandage, and unlike a bandage, it won’t hang off your Achilles after half a day of walking.

7. Stretch out your shoes

Model Molly Sims recommends going half a size up when shopping for heels, and Franklin Polun, a Potomac, Md.-based podiatrist, advises going shoe shopping at the end of the day when your feet are swollen from activity. A little wiggle room can mean much more comfort.

When it comes to the too-tight heels you already own, you have a couple of options. You can either take them to a cobbler to have them stretched, or you can also invest in a shoe stretcher for heels (Footsmart sells them for $25 each), which also cuts down the time it take to break heels in when they’re brand new.

8. Pick a shape that affords optimal comfort

It’s amazing how much the shape of your shoe impacts the comfort. For instance, platforms (this kind, not the ones Elton John wore in the ’70s) cut down the distance your heels are elevated above the balls of your feet. That means they’re not as taxing on your arch, which is especially good when you’re towering on at least three inches. A rounder toe box is also worlds more comfortable and better for your feet, because it allows your toes to lay flat. However, pointy toes are doable as long as the point stretches out instead of stopping right where your toes would rest.

9. Sixe Matters

First and foremost, you want to make sure your heels (or any shoe, for that matter) are the proper size. If they’re too big, your foot will slide around awkwardly. Too small and your foot will feel cramped, which’ll make walking a pain — literally and figuratively. For the best fit, get your foot sized frequently. “Your foot size changes over the years, even as much as one full size, especially after having kids,” About.com’s podiatry expert Dr. Catherine Moyer told StyleCaster. “Have your feet sized once a year, and do it if you’ve never had it done. . . . A lot of people think they’re a wide or vise versa, and they’re not, so definitely do that before you shop.”

10. Pace Yourself

If you’ve never baked before, you wouldn’t start out by baking a five-tier fondant-covered cake from scratch. No, you’d start with a box of Betty Crocker. The same applies when you’re trying out heels. “If you’ve never walked in high heels before, don’t start out learning with 5-inch stilettos — that’s a recipe for pain and maybe even injury,” College Fashion editor Zephyr Basine writes. “Try something smaller, like a 2-inch heel or wedge to get used to the feeling. You can always work your way up to your most killer heels.”

11. Be Conscious of the Rest of Your Body

Victor Chu, a New York-based footwear designer who teaches a class about how to walk in high heels, boiled down the formula for Oprah.com: “Engage your abs — this gives you poise and control. Walk heel to toe, which transfers impact to the leg instead of the ball of the foot. And relax your hips and knees so you’ll be fluid and graceful.” It’s kind of like doing that thing where you pat your head and rub your stomach at the same time. It seems impossible at first but then, eventually, you get into a rhythm.

Prom Dresses Tips to Look More Sweet

images (19)1.  Try it on; dresses look better on you than on the hanger.
2.  Listen to the opinions of your mom and/or friends as to what styles and colors look good on you. Just because you like the dress in an ad doesn’t mean it’s the dress for you.
3. Let the salesperson help you try on the dresses. They help you zip and lace up the dresses, hang them back up and save you time shopping.
4. Listen to the salesperson’s ideas because they know which body type the dresses look good on. They know which styles are hot and which styles have a great fit.
5. Let your friends know which dress you buy so that they will be able choose another style. There’s no way to guarantee that you’ll be the only one at prom with your dress since girls buy from bridal shops in neighboring towns and also online.
6. Start shopping in January or February when the selection of prom dresses is the largest. Buy your dress a couple of months before your prom to have lots of time for alterations.
7. Be okay with change. Almost every prom dress will need some alterations for a perfect fit. Always buy your prom shoes before your alteration appointment so the dress can hemmed to correct length.
8. Consider buying your accessories and shoes at the time you buy your dress. You’ll have the dress on when trying on jewelry and shoes so you can see the complete look before you buy.
9. Being more expensive doesn’t always mean better, especially when you have a budget to meet.
10. TAKE A VISIT TO YOUR LOCAL DRY CLEANERS, Now this may sound like a really unusual tip but you would be surprised by how many people leave behind dresses at dry cleaners. Often dry cleaners keep left behind clothing for a couple of weeks and then they dispose of it, so why not take a trip to your local dry cleaners and ask them. The chances are that you probably will not have to pay much for the dress either.

10. DESIGN YOUR OWN DRESS.

Often we all struggle to find a suitable dress for special occasions, so why not design your own.

There are stores and websites that will take onboard your ideas and design a dress specifically to your tastes or if you are feeling creative you can design your dress completely from scratch.

Make a note of all your design ideas and research the best material to use, this way you will make sure that you dress is perfect for you.

12. BE PREPARED TO SPEND A LOT OF TIME

As already mentioned in tip number one, it is highly unlikely that the first dress you come across will be your perfect prom dress.

You need to be prepared to spend a lot of #time searching for the right dress, style and of course accessories to match.

13. DECIDE WHAT YOUR BUDGET IS

It is extremely important that you set your budget right from the beginning because you are save from heartbreak.

You know when you fall in love with a dress and then you look at the price and then suddenly realise that you can not afford it, or you buy it and go into debt.

If you set the budget then you can conduct a search for dresses that fit your price range.

14. CHOOSE WHAT LOOK YOU WANT TO GO FOR

Many people forget that there are several kinds of looks that you can go for when choosing a dress for prom.

For instance, do you want to look chic, classic, extremely girlie or gothic.

In my opinion once you have decided your look the search for a prom dress will become easier.

15. KNOW WHAT STYLE SUITS YOU

You probably have a rough idea by now of what suits you, if not then it may be worthwhile asking a friend or trying on a selection of styles and picking the best fit.

This is why tip one is really beneficial to you because you may find a style that you had never even though of.

How to Amazing Smell All the Time With Parfum That You Have

1. Spray your perfume right after taking a shower and before getting dressed. The moisture on your skin will help lock in the scent. This will also prevent the fragrance from staining delicate clothes or jewelry.

2. Don’t dab the fragrance on your wrists after spraying. If you rub your wrists together, you’ll force the top notes to disappear faster than intended and as a result make your fragrance not last as long.

3. Target pulse points and warm areas on your body when spraying perfume. To make your scent last longer, choose a couple target areas (not all of them at once) from the chart below to spritz. The warm areas indicated will help diffuse the fragrance across your entire body and spraying your ankles and calves will allow the scent to rise throughout the day.

4. For a lighter scent, spray the fragrance in the air and slowly walk into the mist. The spray will distribute evenly across your body and leave you with a hint of fragrance for occasions when you don’t want to smell as strong.

5. Spraying an alcohol-based fragrance directly onto your hair will dry it out, so instead spray the fragrance on your brush before running it through your hair. Your hair will be lightly scented and undamaged.

6. Or use a fragrance specifically designed for hair to make it smell better in between washes. Try Oribe Cote d’Azur Eau de Parfum.

7. Familiarize yourself with common fragrance terms so you know exactly what the sales associates are referring to when helping you find a new perfume.

8. Pour the last bit of fragrance from an almost-empty perfume bottle into unscented lotion so nothing goes to waste.

9. Create your own custom scent by layering fragrances. Spray a few fragrance blotters with different oils and perfumes and smell them at the same time to see if they complement each other. Once you find a combination you like, try them on your skin (your skin oils can alter the way a perfume smells). Spray the stronger scent first and then top it with the lighter fragrance so that the first fragrance doesn’t overpower the second.

10. the scent. Fragrance sampling is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get.

11. Use business cards as blotter strips for sampling fragrances. No need to waste blotter strip paper.

12. To sample the true scent of the fragrance you’re testing, wait until it has dried on your skin before smelling. The first scent you smell as soon as a fragrance is sprayed is the top note, which disappears after a few minutes anyway.

13. PERFUME WARNINGS

Whether it is for Father’s Day, a birthday, or just because you love them, you can find ties in Canada for every personality. Standard ties are an accessory that every man should have in his closet. If his closet has the same old ties that he has been wearing for years, it is time to update it with modern styles and colours. In order to add a sense of fashion to his accessory closet, purchase a variety of bow ties as well. Bow ties are all the rage in menswear and are no longer just for formal occasions.

Ditch the black suit and buy a bow tie in Canada that pairs with a button up shirt, no jacket, and a great pair of pants. A bow tie can be bought in many different colours and patterns. Try a polka dot bow tie, striped, or plaid. You may even want to purchase a set that contains a matching tie with cuff links and a pocket square. Consider the personality of the man wearing the accessory and then buy the colour or pattern that seems to suit him the best. The man that receives the gift of a bow tie will be delighted with the present.

Many times men wear the same standard ties day after day, year after year, and for every special occasion. It’s time to change this up with modern straight ties . These are going to be the go-to ties that every man needs for work or play. They look great with a jacket or without. Standard ties can be worn casually with a nice pair of jeans. There are many to choose from like black and white stripes, polka dots, solids, or paisleys. Standard neckties can also be bought as a set with matching cufflinks and a pocket square.

Men should always update their wardrobe accessories with modern ties. Whether they are fun bow ties or standard neck ties updated styles, colours, and patterns are always needed. Ties in Canada aren’t just for business or formal wear. They can be nice for date night as well. Consider giving them as gifts to the men in your life. A man can never have too many ties that look great and match a variety of shirt styles. Find the perfect ties to for every occasion and event. Buy his favourite colour so that he can go out in style.

1.  Buy A Necktie And Suiatable for your Width

We’ll start with the easy part:  getting the right size. This will serve you well whether you’re buying handmade Italian imports or off-the-rack at Sears. Fashion has widened and narrowed ties back and forth over the years.

Don’t bother keeping track.

A good necktie is right in the comfortable middle.  3 1/4″ is ideal for most men (the width is measured at the widest point, before the tapered tip if there is one).

If you happen to be built particularly broad you may want a little extra width to keep things proportional, on up to 3 3/4″ or so. Similarly, very slender men can go down to about 2 3/4″ without looking like they’re wearing a “skinny tie.”

Ties without any taper (a somewhat old-fashioned style these days) should be a touch skinnier, around the 2 3/4″ range as well.

From left to right we can see 3 different tie widths revealed using the dollar test. The middle tie is perfect for most men – about 3.25 inches wide.

To quickly judge width in a store I use the dollar test – since the USD is approximately 6 inches long, fold it in half and you have a 3 inch ruler.

Then you can quickly see approximately what width tie you’re about to buy.  My sweet spot for my body build/style requirements is 3.25 inches.  Yours may be bigger or smaller depending on taste.

2. Buy A Necktie and It is suitable for your lenght

Lengths vary from manufacturer to manufacturer but most “regular” ties are around 57″-58″, while “extra-long” or “tall” sizes are closer to 62″-64″.

Shorter styles are either meant for very short men (you have to be pretty far under average to need something shorter than 57″ — most shorter guys can just tie a slightly larger knot to use up length) or else are a vintage style.

Short ties were in vogue for part of the 1940s and again in the 1970s, so you may find ones down in the low 50″ ranges if you scrounge around. The best measure of length, however, is how it falls on your own body.  The tip of a properly-tied necktie should reach just past the trouser waist.

The skinny end should reach almost as far, an inch or so shorter at the very most.  A skinny end that only comes down halfway makes the tie lack body and sway more, and often pokes out from behind if it isn’t pinned in place.

Taller men may have to buy custom ties, or at least specific “long” sizes to be able to tie a satisfactory knot and still have a long enough tail for balance. Shorter men can tie a larger knot like a half- or even full Windsor to use up extra cloth as needed.

3. Select A Quality of Necktie That you Choose

Length and width are easy to judge with a ruler and a few minutes in a dressing room. The real difficulty between buying good ties and buying great ones at a value price lies in your ability to judge the fabric and construction.

The highest quality made ties in the world are made from fine silk. Synthetic fabrics give a similar sheen but none of the rich texture and straight drape of silk.

Check to see if the silk has been cut “on the bias” — across the bolt of cloth — by draping the tie over your hand.  If it hangs straight it was cut properly.  If it curls and twists to one side or the other it was not cut on the bias, and is not going to hang as neatly.

The texture of the silk is also important.  Rough silk that catches on your skin as you slide a hand over it indicates a cheaper product.  The fibers are already stiff, and will break and lose their luster quickly.  Look for smoothness and flexibility in the surface.

Only the most expensive hand-made ties are still made by folding a single piece of silk over and over on itself.  Most get their weight from an interior lining.  How that lining is constructed separates the good ties from the great.

The Tie’s Lining – Very fine ties are lined with 100% wool.  This is quite expensive and fairly rare, since the fine, lightweight wool cloth is prohibitively costly to manufacture.

Blended wool can still make a fine tie — some manufacturers still mark the fineness of the wool with gold-colored bars on the inner lining, which is a good sign that you’re dealing with a quality maker.  Don’t look for it exclusively, however, as many newer ties may have abandoned the gesture.

The Tie’s Bar Tack – What you can still look for on quality ties is the “bar tack.”  The name is a little misleading — it’s actually a small horizontal stitch on the back of the tie, right where the wide end splits to form the tip, holding the two sides together.  This helps keep the tie’s shape and is often absent on mass-produced ties.

The Tie’s Slip Stitch – If you open the back of a necktie up slightly and see a loose black thread hanging lengthwise down the inside, it’s not a manufacturing defect.  That’s the “slip stitch” — an extra stitch made down the center of the tie so that the fabric can shift up and down slightly as you tie it.

4. Buy A Necktie Online Is Easy way

Paying attention to all the details I just went over will help insure you purchase a quality necktie at a fair price.  Notice I didn’t say cheap – at the end of the day, the best ties will cost a pretty penny even when on sale.

However armed with the points in this article, you’ll at least know what quality of tie your’re getting for your money.

Rubber Rings Tips

Silicone rings can be customized in an amazing way with our online design tool. Our wristband customizer is a cool tool to use and is aimed to facilitate customers design exactly what they want. There are several ways of enhancing the product:

1. Make Sure You Fill Up Properly

Want to know what causes most leaks?

It’s how you fill your clearomiser.

All tank style atomizers have a central tube extending from the coil up to the mouthpiece.

If you get e-liquid in there, you’ll almost certainly run into problems with leaking or gurgling.

The fix for this is simple…

Ensure that when you fill up, you avoid getting any e-liquid in the central tube.

Tilt your tank when you fill up, like you’re pouring a glass of beer.

This ensures the liquid runs down the inside of the glass or plastic of your tank – and stays as far away from the centre tube as possible.

As it fills up, gradually straighten the tank to avoid spills.

2.Tighten Everything Up and Watch Out for Cross-Threading

There’s another basic issue that can lead to leaking.

And that’s when the various components aren’t securely screwed in.

Gaps:

  • where your coil meets the base of your atomizer
  • or where the base of your atomizer meets the tank

can be enough to create a leak.

This is easy to avoid. Take time and ensure that:

  • when you re-attach your atomizer head to the base (or to the top of the central tube, for top-coil clearomizers)
  • when you re-attach the base to your tank

everything fits snugly.

You should also check your atomizer head even if you haven’t done anything with it specifically, because its connection can sometimes loosen when you unscrewing your tank.

The biggest problem you’ll encounter when screwing everything in is “cross threading”.

That’s where the threads on the two components you’re screwing together don’t line up properly, leading to an imperfect seal.

As suggested before, the best solution to this is to:

  1. line everything up
  2. turn it anti-clockwise until you hear a click
  3. screw it in clockwise

3. But Don’t Over Tighten

There’s one problem with this…

And that’s when you over-tighten.

O-rings are tiny rubber rings.  You’ll find them near the threading and where two parts of your tank meet.

They are key to making a perfect seal – and reducing the chance of leaks.

However, overtightening can damage these little helpers.

And a little split or break gives e-liquid an “escape route” – meaning you end up with juice leaking out into your pocket.

(Which is embarrassingly close to somewhere you really don’t want e-liquid!)

Of course, the line between tight enough and too tight is a little hard to define.

The basic lesson is to screw everything in place firmly, but remember that you shouldn’t need to put much strength into it.

There’s no need to Hulk out; screw it in so it fits snugly – but not as tight as you possibly can.

4. Check Your O Rings and Replace Them if Needed

It’s not just over-tightening that can lead to issues with O-rings.

They can also degrade or get budged out of position over time, and may just be faulty when you first receive them.

To check your O-rings, take your clearomizer or tank apart – this usually just requires unscrewing the various parts – and look for the rubber rings on the atomizer head and at the base of your tank.

You should be able to see if any are degraded or out of position. If they are, remove them– and replace them with fresh ones.

Something like a small flat-head screwdriver, a toothpick or a pair of tweezers can help with this.

Some tanks will come with spares, but if not, you’ll have to buy some more in the correct size.

It’s also worth checking that your O-ring is installed correctly, so everything fits together with no obvious gaps e-liquid can leak through.

5. Adding Extra Seals for the Aspire Triton and Nautilus

Sometimes, tanks and clearomizers could use more sealing  – particularly where the atomizer head meets the centre tube.

Many vapers run into this type of problem with the Aspire Triton, with juice leaking out of the bottom after making its way into the centre tube, and it can also affect the Nautilus.

The fix is simple.

For the Triton, you’ll just need one of those little silicone drip tip covers and a pair of scissors.

Unscrew the tank and remove the coil from the base.

There are two sets of threading on the coil, one at the bottom – which is surrounded by little O-rings on both sides – and one at the top, just above the ridged section.

The upper threading has no seal below (or above) it, which is the source of the issue.

Cut yourself a section of your silicone drip tip cover, so you end up with a ring just wide enough to fit between the raised, ridged section and the upper threading, and put it there.

You can cut the ring to size more precisely once you’ve got it in place. This makes it less likely to get in the way when you’re trying to re-assemble, but be careful!

Once everything is re-attached, you should be able to vape leak-free.

The problem on the Nautilus is almost identical (as so is the fix). The only difference is that you can use the lower O-ring from another coil instead of cutting one for yourself.

6. Increase Your Power Setting

One of the most common causes of leaks is actually flooding.

That’s when too much juice gets pulled into your coil for it to vaporise.

The result?

Tons of excess e-liquid that can leak out of the coil housing.

There are a few ways to solve this…

The simplest is to switch to a higher power or voltage setting.

This will vaporise more juice per puff, so it can cope with the amount of e-liquid making its way to your coil.

It will also lead to more vapour (which you may not want), and can bring out different elements of the flavour of your juice. So it isn’t always ideal.

It’s not the only solution, though…

7. Add Extra Wicking Material

There’s another solution…

And that’s simply to add some extra wicking material into the coil housing.

This will work with any sub-ohm tank with horizontal coils – and many clearomizers too.

Effectively, it slows things down so your coil has more time to do its work.

How does it work?

Simply take a small piece of organic cotton and stuff it in beside the coil.

Be careful to avoid moving the coil in the process. Use a straightened paperclip or something similar to poke it into place, and leave at least one side free from cotton to maintain airflow.

Your airflow will be reduced, though, so there is a downside to this approach too.

8. Switch to Higher VG Juices

This is a bit of a simplistic solution, but thinner, PG-based juices will generally leak more than VG-based ones.

So switching to VG juices will often at least slow down the leaking.

You can add in extra wicking material or boost your power setting to prevent your coil head from flooding and leaking – as in the previous two tips. But switching to VG-based juices has pretty much the same effect, because the liquid can’t be drawn into the coil head as quickly.

If you combine approaches, you might have problems with dry hits, but choosing any one of the approaches should minimize flooding and leaking without taking things too far.

9. Inhale Slowly and Softly, Not Firmly and Sharply

If you’re still having problems with leaky atomizers, particularly if you’re relatively new to vaping, your inhalation style could be the cause.

There’s a core difference between inhaling from a cigarette and from an e-cigarette…

Drawing harder on a cigarette gives you more smoke, but inhaling more sharply on an e-cigarette accomplishes little.

In fact, when you puff sharply on your e-cigarette, you may be pulling liquid into the coil housing faster than it can vaporise it.

That leaves you to sucking some excess liquid up through the centre tube like a straw – and potentially causing leaking.

The solution takes some getting used to, but it’s easy:

Make your puffs much longer, and don’t worry about inhaling sharply.  Vapour will come even with gentle inhalation, and you won’t flood your atomizer.

10. Minimise Condensation with Long Draws

There’s one source of leaking you can do little about.

Condensation.

It’s hard to inhale all the vapour you produce when you press the fire button and take a puff, and any remaining vapour will eventually condense into your centre tube or mouthpiece.

This is not a lot of e-liquid, but it will build up over time.

That’s why, even when there are no clear signs of leaking from the connections on your atomizer and no gurgling to indicate you’re flooding your coil, you may still notice e-liquid has leaked through onto your device’s connection.

To minimise this happening:

  • inhale as soon as you fire up your e-cig
  • take your finger of the fire button when you have finished inhaling

You can also clear any accumulated e-liquid out of the tube by removing your clearomizer, putting a paper towel below the point that connects to the battery and blowing firmly through the mouthpiece.

11. Bonus Tip Taking a flight

Remember that story at the start of this post?

Well, here’s how to avoid it ever happening to you!

You see, your e-liquid and tank really don’t get on with airplane pressure changes.

I’ve noticed that after takeoff, and as the plane starts to level out a bit for the slow climb, my tank starts to leak.

Your e-liquid just wants out!

It’s pretty embarrassing when this happens and the smell of your eliquid creates an sweet smelling atmosphere around you…

Particularly if the people sitting next to you notice that you have an electronic cigarette, and think that you’ve been using it.

So before you board your flight, go to the bathroom and empty your tank into the toilet or sink.

11. The rules of showing sking

Speaking of rules, we should mentioned those regarding showing skin. It’s pretty simple – show one body part at a time. A little bit of mystery is always a nice touch.
